OGDC discovers oil and gas at Tando Allah Yar

KARACHI - Oil and Gas Company Limited (OGDC) has announced an oil and gas discovery at Tando Allah Yar exploration block located in Sindh, a notice issued at KSE on Thursday said. According to the notices, the initial flow rate of the well is 200barrels per day of oil and 11mmcfd gas. The block is 95 percent owned and operated by OGDC with the remaining 5 per cent owned by GHPL.  It is being expected that production from the well to come online in next 8 to 9 months. Meanwhile, a well of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) started initial production of gas of 11 MMSCFD and condensate of 200 barrels per day. The specification of the gas is 2125 WHFP (PSI). The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) had discovered gas condensate in its exploratory well Kunnar South 01 located in district Tando Allah Yar, Sindh Province. Kunnar South Well No. 01 structure was delineated in Tando Allah Yar E.L license area, which is a joint venture between OGDCL (Operator) and GHPL having 95% and 5% working interests, respectively. The well was drilled and tested using OGDCL in-house expertise to the target depth of 3355 meters. Based on drilled and log data, 03 zones were selected for testing. Production testing of Zone-1 (Massive Sands) of Lower Goru Sand started on July 21, 2008, which proved productive.
