New tech beneficial for banks and customers alike

KARACHI - New technology and changes are beneficial both for the banks and customers as they are timesaving, said Pakistan Software Export Board Managing Director Talib baloch. He was addressing the 7th International E-Banking Conference and Exhibition organised by Total Communication in collaboration with the Federal IT Ministry, Pakistan Software Export Board, Pakistan Software Housing Association and the Sindh govt. Talib said that now a bank customer can bank by any place and update for its cash information. Pakistan is now exporting Banking Solutions for E-Banking and it is a great achievement and during last few years IT & Banking sector witnessed a great progress. Nadra COO Saleem Rafik said that there is a service divide as there exists a variation in services availability between the urban and rural populations. The Nadra is striving hard to provide the same services in far-flung areas and E-Banking is a way to provide modern services and banking solutions to people living in remote areas by establishing E-Sahulat utility bills payment, he added. Pakistan Software Houses Association (PSHA) President Jeham Ara said that this conference also held in Bangladesh this year and we would organise this e-banking in SLanka end of this year. She emphasized Pakistani Banking sector to encourage Pakistani Solutions Provider they better know the ground reality as well as local laws and regulation very well and showed their potential globally by winning awards. Umair Azam Country Sales Manager AVAYA said that E-Banking provides fast and least expensive solutions for banking product. Sadiq Panjwani Manager Financial Sector IBM Pakistan said that next era of Banking is Smart Banking where Bank will work as Financial Advisor to their customer. Hadier Devjianie EVP & Head of IT Soneri Bank said that now customer is well aware and demanding more and more and one can survive only by providing cutting edge technology. Mir M Nasir Director Strategic Group Inbox said that by introducing Digital Pen & Paper customer information can be transmitted to Database directly. Sajjad Syed Managing Director SAP Pakistan said that in this age everyone offering same product and to survive it is necessary to compete in Quality of Service and it is possible by adopting cutting edge ICT Technology. On this occasion, FIA National Response Centre for Cyber Crime Project Director Ammar Hussain Jaffery stressed the need for public awareness regarding Cyber Crime. He said that criminals bring new tactics after introducing of new technology and now they are cheating people by Internet, Credit Card Theft. In last Minister of IT Government of Sindh Raza Haroon distributed mementoes among the participants. Ayub But CEO ZRG and Khawaja Muhammad Almas Head Project Team Core Banking ABL also address the event and describe that this type of event will surely help better interaction among Bankers and Technology provider. Large number of people belonging to Banking and IT Sector attend this event.
