KARACHI - EOB scheme has been extended to every industrial and commercial worker of the country and now the informal sector and even self-employed persons can also get register themselves with EOBI. This was stated by the Chairman Zafar Iqbal Gondal during a meeting for launching a national awareness campaign for workers community at EOBI head office Karachi, says a Press release.
“More than 5 million employees are currently registered with the EOBI and 349,000 are getting pension benefits’’ he stated. EOBI is playing a significant role in alleviating poverty because millions of families are getting fully facilitated benefits from the EOB scheme.
He urged to launch an effective national awareness campaign through print and electronic media to educate the masses in general and stakeholders in particular about the benefits and facilities offered by EOBI.
The meeting was attended among others by Javed Iqbal DG(ops), Najam-ul-Saqib Siddiqui DG(F&A), Parvaiz Ahmed DG(HR), Sher Muhammad(SA to Chairman), Qamar Riaz(Media Advisor) and Raheela Kayani (Director Media & Publicity), Tariq Shah (Asst. Director Media) & Naseem Sheikh Akhter (Executive Officer).
