Rupee further weakens


KARACHI - The dollar recorded strength against the rupee in the interbank market, dealers said Tuesday.
It began the day’s trading at Rs89.41 for buying, rose 41 paisas and closed at Rs89.82 for buying and Rs89.87 for selling. The Euro witnessed gain against local currency as it initiated the day’s trading at Rs116.77 for buying, went 65 paisas up and closed at Rs117.42 for buying and Rs117.62 for selling. The Pound sterling increased its value against the rupee, it started the day’s trading at Rs139.79 for buying, gained 68 paisas and closed at Rs140.47 for buying and Rs140.67 for selling.
The dollar witnessed gain against the rupee, dealers said. It started the day’s trading at Rs89.4 for buying, increased 20 paisas and closed at Rs89.6 for buying and Rs90.15 for selling.
The European currency gained strength against the rupee as it began trading at Rs116.2, moved 30 paisas up and closed at Rs116.5 for buying and Rs118.5 for selling. The Pound recorded gain against local currency, it initiated the trading at Rs139.3, rose 20 paisas and closed at Rs139.5 for buying and Rs141 for selling.
