LAHORE - The Punjab Small Industries Corporation has provided loans of Rs 3 billion to more than 12000 small and medium industries under different credit programmes. This was stated by Provincial Minister for Industries Ch Abdul Ghafoor while presiding over a departmental meeting on Wednesday. He informed the meeting that PSIC had also established 21 small industrial estates for providing developed plots to industrialists for establishment of their projects and to date 3,832 factories had been established on 6,480 plots, which had employed over 48,000 persons. Abdul Ghafoor said in order to facilitate up-gradation of cottage and small industries by providing an easy access to the latest technology, the PSIC would establish a network of cluster development centres.
