BQPS-II gets 2 more gas turbines

KARACHI - Two more gas turbines landed here from France for Karachi Electric Supply Companys 560MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at Bin Qasim, called BQPS-2. This completes the gas turbines part of the project as first turbine and associated auxiliaries have already arrived. Installation starts in August. This project contains total four turbines out of which three are gas turbines and one steam turbine. The three gas turbines have been obtained from GE, France, and the steam turbine will come from HARBIN, China. After installation completes, the first turbine will start providing electricity to the KESC power network in June 2011, second in July, third in August on the open cycle the same year while the steam turbine from China will start in March 2012 in combined cycle mode he informed.
