ISLAMABAD - The 747MW Guddu Combined Cycle power project will be completed by August 2013. Chairing a meeting here on Wednesday, Secretary Water and Power Imtiaz Qazi asked the Genco Board to utilize all the resources and ensure completion of the project within prescribed time frame.
He said all the issues relating to the project implementation will be resolved. He said the government has also released a component of Rs3.6 billion against the Exim Bank loan.
Qazi also directed the Sindh Police Department to provide complete security to the staff working on the project. He assured to resolve matters regarding NOC from Sindh Irrigation Department and supply of gas from the field to project site.
INP understands that a detailed presentation was given to the meeting by the project director on current progress and other allied matters. It was informed that about 60% work has been completed and as per schedule first turbine will start generation by 27th January, 2013, 2nd by 27th February, 2013 and project will be completed by August, 2013.
