APMSO renamed
By Our Staff Reporter
KARACHI-Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain on Monday dissolved the organisational structure of the party’s student wing and renamed it as All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation retaining its original call sign of APMSO.
Addressing the general workers meetings at Karachi and Hyderabad,he advised the youngsters to adopt humility, tolerance, commitment and dedication to help promote tradition and culture in a society which is healthy, rich and positive.
The meeting at Azizabad’s Lal Qila Ground in Karachi was attended by hundreds of students from universities and colleges while the meeting at Hyderabad was also participated by youngsters from Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah.
‘These youngsters will now work in all the educational institutions of the country under the banner of Muttahida Students Organisation’.
The change was long overdue because of the change in nomenclature of the parent body, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement,he said, adding, that all activities of the Muhajir Students Organisation will remain suspended till further orders.
He described the APMSO as nursery to impart lessons on decent and civilised behaviour for the youngsters to grow in life to be good citizens of tomorrow, showing respect for parents, teachers, elders, ladies etc.
He who himself founded the organisation in 1978, described in detail as to how he travelled for miles sometime on a rickety cycle and even carried huge loads on shoulders to build the organisation brick by brick.
At times, he had to install Eid card stalls and offered tuition to finance his studies.
I faced resistance almost at every stage but I never looked back and through perseverance and commitment was able to build it into a strong and powerful body with the help of colleagues and the people, he added.
He asked the APMSO members to keep a vigilant eye on elements who were using the name of the organisation and trying to sabotage it from within and hurt its reputation and interests.
‘Such elements are enemies of an organisation which is committed to change the face of the society by introducing new and healthy traditions and which is working round the clock to improve the lot of the common man’.
He said ‘its members should therefore show tolerance and humility in the face of provocation because such a policy alone has helped it establish itself as a credible organisation in the eyes of the nation’.
He said those who had pushed the APMSO out of the educational institutions had now been thrown out of the political arena by the MQM.
We have defeated them through patience and we will continue to meet their challenges through our decent behaviour,he added.
He made it clear that those refusing to follow his guidelines could never by his companions neither could they be called loyal to the organisation and its cherished principles.Such people are enemies of the movement.
He said the organisation is spreading to the nook and corner of the country and is being widely accepted throughout the world.
‘We have learnt to face challenges and have been overcoming them.We are nearing our destination and succeed we will God willing’,he added.
