SIALKOT - Six persons including three women of a same family and their private security guards were killed over an old enmity by armed accused belong to rival group in village Chhani Gondal-Kulluwal, Sambrial tehsil here late the other night.
Reportedly, the family of deceased landlord Muhammad Rafi Gondal was returning home in two cars, when some armed accused led by rival group leader Bilal Gondal, lying in ambush, stopped the cars by on the village road and started indiscriminate firing, killing three women of the family namely Noushaba, Parveen and Fozia Bibi, an infant girl and their two private security guards Noor Khan and Khalid Khan on the spot, besides injuring a youth Waqar Gondal critically. The accused continued firing for about 30 minutes and also performed “Bhangra” on the dead bodies. Later they fled the scene by firing into the air, saying that now they had avenged their old enmity of by killing six persons of the rival group.
Rescue 1122 officials shifted the dead bodies to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Teaching Hospital Sialkot for autopsy. The Airport Police have started investigation with no arrest.
Meanwhile, the six slain persons including three women of a family and minor girl were laid to rest in their native graveyard. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funerals for the deceased.
Earlier, members of the family and villagers staged a protest while placing the dead bodies at China Chowk and kept the traffic blocked for two hours on main Sialkot-Sambrial Road on Sunday.
The protesting people chanted anti-police slogans demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Sialkot DPO Muhammad Gohar Nafees reached the spot and negotiated with the protesting people. The DPO assured them of early arrest of the killers at which the protesters dispersed.
