MWM, ST, JUP reach electoral alliance

KARACHI -

The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Sunni Tehreek and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan have reached an electoral alliance for the polls to be held on May 11.
Addressing a news conference here at the Press Club Thursday, MWM’s Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi, ST’s Matloob Awan Qadri and JUP’s Mustaqeem Noorani announced their joint course of action to contest elections against what they call the evil forces and terror elements.
They said they have decided not to contest elections against one another and would back a single candidate of either party by withdrawing other candidates.
“We appeal to the masses to vote for us to make Pakistan a welfare state in which terrorists and fanatics would be dealt with iron hands,” said Allama Taqvi adding that it was good omen that moderate religious parties, which believe in the ideology of Pakistan and whose ancestors had sacrificed everything for the country’s sake, have joined hands and decided to work together in the elections.
“We condemn the terror attacks being carried out on election rallies and offices of various political parties. The terrorists are fighting a proxy war of the United States, Zionist Israeli regime and India,” Matloob Qadri said. He said these stooges are trying to pave a way for the agents of their masters, so that they could control Pakistan’s affairs.
“We express our sympathies and condolence with the political parties over the loss of human lives in terror attacks. We’ll work hard to end sectarianism, ethnic bias, terrorism and fanaticism,” said Mustaqeem Qadri. He urged the people to back moderate parties, defeating the agenda of terrorists.
