RAWALPINDI - Sunni Tehrik Pakistan (STP) observed Friday as protest day against the Israel's naked aggression against innocent Palestinians in Gaza and Khan Yunis.
The STP activists also set ablaze American and Israeli flags during the protest demonstrations in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi and Peshawar. Moreover, resolutions were presented and passed unanimously during Friday sermons across the country to denounce Israeli bloodshed in Palestine.
STP Head Sarwat Ijaz Qadri, while talking to media men, vehemently denounced Israeli air strikes in Gaza and Khan Yunis, which killed more than 100 Palestinians and injured over 400 including children. He said that bombardment by Israeli jets on innocent Palestinians in Gaza is worst kind of terrorism. He asked the international community to come forward and stop Israel from bombing on Gaza and Khan Yunis.
He said that US President Barack Obama supported Israel by stating, "Israel has the right to defend herself". He said that the double-faced policies of UN and US were the major halts in the way of peaceful solution of Palestine issue. "The UN always taking side of Jews in Muslim conflicts," Sarwat added.
He asked to international community to stand up with Palestine or else the world might suffer a big loss. "Palestine is an humanitarian issue and it should be resolved on humanitarian basis," the SPT head said. He urged the Muslim leaders to forge unity among their ranks and support Palestine against Israel.
