mardan - Hundreds of PTI activists staged a protest demonstration in front of the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday against the alleged rigging on NA-9 Mardan-1 constituency.
The angry activists chanted slogans against the local administration, Election Commission and judiciary. Addressing to the protesters elected member of provincial assembly of PK 24 Zahid Khan Durani, losing candidate of NA-9 Nasir Khan, PTI Information Secretary Riaz Pandakhel Advocate and others claimed that PTI candidate’s victory on election day was converted into defeat the next day.
They added that on the other day the results were changed and former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti was declared wining candidate on NA-9.
They accused that the local administration, election commission and judiciary had changed the results in the night. They demanded re-election on NA-9.
Meanwhile, ANP Mardan chapter strongly condemned the demonstration and protest of PTI against NA-9 results. Addressing a crowded press conference at Mardan Press club Mohammad Farooq Akram District President demanded of the PTI leadership that they should also accept the mandate of ANP.
