Mian Omar Mansha, son of Mian Muhammad Mansha, Pakistan’s richest man, was arrested Thursday on the charge of display of weapons and interfering in official affairs following a scuffle with a policeman at a police picket in Lahore’s Nishtar Colony, officials sources said.
A case has been registered against Omar and one of his bodyguards, namely Mahboob, under section 13/20/65 and 186 of the PPC, on the complaint of assistant sub-inspector Tariq Aziz.  Two other bodyguards had managed to flee from the scene, sources said. Automatic weapons were also seized from the arrested persons.  According to sources, a luxury vehicle was flagged down at a picket in Nishtar Colony near Gajju Matta area. Omar Mansha intimidated duty officer Muhammad Munawar with threats of teaching him a lesson for intercepting his vehicle and exchanged harsh words with the policemen deployed at the picket. The man (Omar) and his security guards then tried to overpower the policemen, witnesses say.
Worried, the police officials contacted their high-ups and also radioed wireless messages asking the headquarters to send in more police personnel. As a consequence, Omar along with a security guard was taken to the Nishtar Colony Police Station.   “I did not know he was the son of the richest man in the country, but I do know that he is behind the bars right now,” said duty officer, Munawar, when contacted over the phone. Sources added investigation into the case was in an advanced stage.  According to Forbes World’s richest people list, Mian Muhammad Mansha is richest Pakistani person for 2013 year with $2.6 billion net worth.
