ISLAMABAD - Jamaat-I-Islami (JI) on Sunday staged a protest demonstration in front of the Parliament House to show solidarity with supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi.
Addressing the demonstrators Jamaat-I-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hassan said that the West was conspiring against the Islamic movements in Arab countries but, according to him, such negative tactics to suppress this uprising would fail.
He came down hard on so-called world democracies for keeping mum over the pogrom of innocent people in Egypt at the hands of usurpers and said that they were holding this protest in support of the people of Egypt and Akhwanul Muslameem.
He paid glowing tributes to Turkey for contacting other states for calling the session of United Nations Security Council to look into the matter and help stop the mass killing of innocent people in Egypt.
He further said that everybody knew it well the Amin Al-Zawari, who was earlier part of Akhwanul Muslameen, had left the organisation much earlier and joined al-Qaeda and now drawing links between Zawari and Akhwanul Muslameen was just another ploy of America to malign a genuine struggle of Egyptian people for security of their basic rights.
JI Amir said that the US operations were further strengthening Amin Al-Zawari and al-Qaeda. Terming the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) government a complete failure Syed Munawar Hassan said that Nawaz Sharif's government would hardly last for a year because it was based on stolen mandate and PML-N chief knew it well.
PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi also joined the protest. He said that Organisation of Islamic Conference and Arab League needed to play their role to restore order in Egypt.
