KARACHI - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sindh President Ismail Raho has unveiled independence celebration activities for entire month of August in the province at a Press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC) here.
PML-N Vice President Saleem Zia, General Secretary Nihal Hashimi and Shah Muhammad Shah were also present on the occasion. Briefing the media representatives, Ismail Raho said earlier party provincial council held a meeting at party office Karsaz to finalise the independence celebration activities.
During the meeting the party Sindh leadership decided to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner. Highlighting the ideology of Pakistan and the celebrations would be marked as symbol of unity, he added. He informed party provincial council suggested that people would be motivated to promote nationalism and decided to organise various programmes including cultural shows, Mushairas, seminars, symposiums, quiz etc on the district level across the Sindh.
He said celebrations would begin from August 1st and reach the climax on August 14 and later on continue through out the month. He said on August 1st a ceremony of raising national flags would be held at the all the party district headquarters of the province.
PML-N provincial leadership would led a "independence walk" from Mazar-e-Quaid to KPC on August 2nd while a Mehfil-e-Milad would be organised at the party district headquarters on August 3rd.
He further told that on August 8 party has would hold a big public gathering in Jacobabad, Sindh and PML-N youth wing has scheduled "National Flag Conference" on August 9th. PML-N leaders said another big public gathering would be held in Matiyari, Sindh on August 10th.
The Karachi division will take out "Jashan-e-Azadi Rally" on August 13th while Jashan-e-Pakistan programme would be held in Hyderadbad Sindh on August 14th ,moreover, other various programmes will continue through out the month.
He said that during the last provincial council meeting various resolutions were also passed in which the party leadership condemned the Israel aggression on Gaza strip.The Council demanded that OIC to play its role in this regard. In another resolution Sindh leadership condemned artificial generated water shortage in the Sindh and held Sindh provincial government for the crisis. He said that the PPP led provincial government has failed to address the various issues of the province.
On the occasion, the PML-N Sindh leadership expressed grief over the death of veteran journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the Nawa-i-Waqt Group Dr Majid Nizami. Paying rich tributes to the service of Dr Majid Nizami, the PML-N leaders said that his death has created a vacuum in the field of journalism which would never be filled while Majid Nizami services for the country will always be remembered.
To a question about the news of the difference in the Sindh leadership, Ismail said the news regarding the differences in the Sindh chapter leadership were baseless. No such things exist in the PML-N Sindh and party leaders are on the same page, he added. He informed that party senior leaders Syed Ghous Ali Shah and Liaquat Jatoi were on foreign visits and after their arrival they would make efforts to strengthen the party organisation system. He alleged that PPP led provincial government working on the agenda of revenge politics creating baseless case against the PML-N workers. On the other hand the innocent farmers were also being victimised as they were being logged in fake cases of water theft.
Similarly, government is taking action only against the junior officials of Irrigation Department while the chief responsible and senior officers those availed the posts on basis of favouritism and through the channel of corruption were left freely, Ismail said.
He said that there is a big difference in the governance of the Sindh and Punjab and further accused the PPP government of carrying out open corruption in all the departments of government.
