Fazl to raise NWA affectees compensation issue with PM

ISLAMABAD - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman is set to request to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for compensation for Waziristan affectees in coming days.
"Maulana will soon meet with Prime Minister to discuss host of issues including compensation for Waziristan affectee in coming week," JUI-F sources told The Nation. They said that Maulana had also met with Jirga of Waziristan to deliberate on the situation of the area, where currently army operation is being conducted. Maulana also assured the Jirga to strongly raise the issue with concerned authorities.
It is relevant to mention here following a militant attack some days back in Miranshah on a military convoy, which had claimed lives of at least five security personnel and injured many others, the forces had reportedly imposed a curfew in the area and launched a search operation. Civilians in Miranshah had also claimed deaths of some civilians including two women.
Fazlur Rahman a couple of days before also strongly demanded that operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) should be stopped immediately, arguing that this attack is badly harming residents of the area and not the terrorists. He had also challenged that in recent attacks all 65 persons died were civilians who had no links with terrorists.
