ISLAMABAD - A division bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued notices to SSP (Operations) Islamabad, seeking his reply in a contempt of court petition moved by one Haroon Rahsid for not registering a murder case against former President Pervez Musharraf for killing his father and grandmother in Lal Masjid operation.
Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi also directed the station house officer (SHO) Aabpara police station to appear before the court and submit his reply in the contempt of court application on September 2.
Haroon Rashid, son of late Ghazi Abdul Rashid of Lal Masjid, filed the said contempt of court petition in the court by alleging disobedience on part of Islamabad police for registering FIR against former military dictator Pervez Musharraf in the case of murdering Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother Sahib Khatoon despite court orders.
It is pertinent to mention here that an IHC bench on July 12, 2013 had directed the Islamabad police to record version of the petitioner Haroon and register FIR if any cognisable offence was made. Haroon through his counsel Tariq Asad Advocate adopted before the court that consequential to the court orders they went to Aabpara police and recorded their version but the Islamabad police have not yet implemented court orders. Therefore, the petitioner has prayed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against police officials.
Later, the court deferred the hearing of the case till September 2 after issuing the abovementioned orders.
