PPPP cell to monitor poll code violations

islamabad - Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has set up Central Election Monitoring Cell (CEMC) to monitor violations of code of conduct issued by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the ongoing election campaign.
General Secretary PPPP Latif Khosa will be the chairman of CEMC. The inaugural meeting of CEMC was held in the chair of Latif Khosa Saturday and participants expressed grave concern over the negative statements coming from leaders of different political parties including PML-N and PTI against PPPP leadership and demanded of ECP to take notice of these statements.
The meeting demanded of ECP to ensure complete adherence to the electoral code of conduct by all these leaders of various political parties as their irresponsible statements may disrupt law and order situation.
The meeting also condemned the remarks made by PTI Chairman Imran Khan against President Asif Ali Zardari.
Khosa while addressing the meeting said President Zardari has kept him away from political activities fully in the line of the orders superior judiciary and the direction given by the ECP in this connection. Targeting his person in electoral rallies and public meetings is not only condemnable but also it is mean bid to promote one’s political stature.
The PTI chief is giving inducement to the youths foreign visas during his election campaign, which constitutes sheer breach of code of conduct evolved by ECP, he held.
During the meeting five written complaints on violation of code of conduct were sent to the ECP.
