PESHAWAR - Expressing grave concern over the massive usage of funds in election campaign, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Khyber Agency leader has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the alleged pre-poll rigging in constituency NA-45 and NA-46 of tribal agency.
Addressing a news conference here at press club on Friday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Agency President Iqbal Afridi alleged that votes were being openly selling in two National Assembly constituencies NA-45 and NA-46. He said that a massive use of funds in the election campaign was in violation of the basic Code of Conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Afridi also accused that his opponent candidates former minister Hamidullah Jan Afridi, Mohammad Shah Afridi, Nasir Afridi, and Shah Jee Gul were distributing money among voters aimed to ensure their win on these two constituencies in the May 11 election.
He demanded the ECP to take notice of violation of the basic Code of Conduct, and ensure holding of free, fair and transparent elections in a peaceful environment in tribal region. "It should be ensured to implement the already set basic Code of Conduct across the country and especially in constituencies fall on in the Fata," he demanded.
On the occasion, PML-Q Bara, Khyber Agency chapter former general secretary Sarwar Shah Afridi resigned from his party and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf along with his family members and friends.
Shah while speaking on the occasion held the former rulers responsible for the present law and order situations in Bara, Khyber Agency and rest of the tribal region.
He said that a large number of innocent tribal people were killed in the military operations and US drone attacks in Fata, whereas thousands of families were compelled to migrate from their hometowns but the former rulers were followed criminal silence to stop such unjustified attacks.
He claimed that the PTI was the only political force to pull the country out of the existing crises and that's why the party opposed security forces operations in the tribal region. He urged the masses to reject the looters and corrupt politicians with the power of vote and bring honest leadership to address the issue confronting the tribal people.
