White House rejects Death Star space station bid

WASHINGTON, DC (Metro) A petition to build a real-life Death Star space station from the Star Wars film series has been officially rejected by the White House. More than 36,000 people signed the appeal calling for the US government to ‘secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016?. Supporters argue the project, which would require an estimated $850quadrillion, would spur job growth and bolster national defences.
