Kanye wants to build a cathedral

LOS ANGELES - Kanye West wants to build a church as a tribute to his mother, daughter and wife, it is claimed. The rapper is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian and the couple shares one-year-old daughter North. The newlyweds are supposedly moving to a $20 million 3.5 acre estate in Hidden Hills, California. The couple originally planned to live in a Bel Air home, which they bought in 2013. But they eventually sold it and many claimed the sale was spurred on by lengthy renovations. Now the hitmaker apparently has new construction plans.
‘They want somewhere that weddings, baptisms and family funerals can take place for years to come,’ a source told The National Enquirer via Radar Online. But Kanye being Kanye, it’s going to be ludicrously over the top. Kanye has supposedly visited Barcelona’s La Sagrada Familia and is thinking of the landmark for inspiration, the source told the publication.
‘He’s always wanted something similar for his own family.’ The church would reportedly be a ‘monument’ to the performer and his wife as well as a ‘major landmark’. Additionally, the structure would be a tribute to Kanye’s mother Donda.
‘He says everyone will want to see it, like the Hollywood sign or the Empire State Building,’ the source added. ‘He wants this church to include a chapel as a tribute to his mom, along with a stained glass window featuring him, Kim and their daughter, North.’ The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and the Yeezus performer are apparently happy. The couple enjoys staying in and are even contemplating more kids, People magazine previously reported.
‘They really enjoy spending time at home,’ a source informed the publication. ‘They watch movies together, play in the nursery…go for walks around the neighbourhood. ‘They both want more kids. That’ll probably happen sooner than later.’
