Ben Affleck to direct Bunker Hill?

HOLLYWOOD Warner Bros is reportedly eying Ben Affleck to direct their Bunker Hill adaptation. The film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s forthcoming book Bunker Hill: A City, A Siege, A Revolution. Warner Bros secured the rights to the book this week, reports Deadline. The rights were apparently acquired with Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company Pearl Street Films in mind. Following the success of Affleck’s Boston-based films Gone Baby Gone and The Town, the Oscar winner is reported to be the top candidate to direct the 1775 period piece. Bunker Hill details the tensions between British soldiers and Boston residents. The story also chronicles battles in Lexington and Concord, as well as Bunker Hill, leading to the Revolutionary War. Chris Terrio - who won an Oscar - has reportedly been tapped to reunite with Affleck and write the script for the Bunker Hill adaptation.                   –DS
