Miley Cyrus defends fan outburst

Miley Cyrus has opened up about her outburst directed at an abusive fan in Costa Rica. The teen superstar was on holiday with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth when a group of fans approached them for photos and autographs, only for one to call her an "a**hole" afterwards.
Cyrus retaliated, saying: "What the f**k? Are you for real?". A clip of the incident later surfaced online.
The singer has now defended her actions via Twitter, writing: "Been trying not to tweet & just enjoy the holidays but just to clear something up I would never swear to a fan. When someone yells something so rude making me look like an 'a**hole' in front of fans who I am more than happy 2 take a picture w/ [with] I can't tolerate that kind of rudeness. (sic)
"Every1 who was there apologised 4 the woman's brusque behaviour. She obviously wasn't a fan. Hope every1 has a Merry Christmas!"            – DS
