It’s wedding bells at long last for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie... well sort of.
While the world is eagerly anticipating the marriage of the A-list couple, who have been together for almost nine years and engaged since April 2012, there will be a ceremony in their future, albeit on-screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the power couple will exchange vows in their upcoming movie collaboration By The Sea, which will see them reunited on the big screen for the first time since meeting on the set of 2005’s Mr & Mrs Smith.
While details of the plotline are being kept under wraps, the publication reports that the long-time lovers will play husband and wife in the flick, which is set to be released sometime in 2016.
The movie, which is being written and directed by the multi-talented 39-year-old, has been scooped up by Universal, who have bought the worldwide rights to the drama. A source reveals that both the Oscar-winning actress and her Academy Award-nominee fiancé will take a significant pay cut for the project which is close to their hearts.
The 50-year-old will earn less than his partner, who commanded a whopping $20 million for her lead role in Disney’s Maleficent.
While she will also be making much less this time around, THR reports that she will get double back-end royalties on 100 per cent of home video sales - much higher than the usual 20 per cent offered.
Just last week, the highly-anticipated project’s title was confirmed, with Angelina saying in a statement just how excited she is for the film to have found a home with Universal.
‘I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as I finish “Unbroken” and begin work on “By The Sea”,’ the release began. ‘They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker.’
