Tom Cruise may feature in the new Star Wars movie and has reportedly met up with director JJ Abrams to discuss his involvement.
The Hollywood heavyweight reportedly met up with Star Wars director J.J. Abrams in London over the weekend to discuss his involvement with the popular movie franchise. The pair have collaborated professionally in the past and are said to be keen to work together again.
‘Tom has been in London for over a week and met up with J.J. and some other people from Star Wars at the weekend,’ an insider revealed to British newspaper The Sun. ‘On Saturday evening five of them met up for dinner and drinks at the Belgravia Hotel. J.J. produced Mission: Impossible 5 and loves working with Tom whenever he gets the chance.’
The movie is currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. Production came to a halt recently when Harrison Ford, reprising his role as Han Solo from the original movies, was injured on set. It was first suspected to be an ankle injury, but it has now been confirmed the 71-year-old actor broke his left leg in an accident involving a door. While the ageing action star is recovering, producers and writers have time to try and work out how Tom could appear in the Sci-Fi flick. ‘Losing Harrison is going to set things back a little scheduling wise and there’s some time to play around with,’ the insider added.
