CARLA Bruni-Sarkozy - the woman whos married to French President Nicolas Sarkozy - is set to star in Woody Allens new film. The French First Lady has accepted Woodys offer to appear in his as-yet untitled project, but admits she could be completely useless. Woody first approached Carla last year after he met the supermodel-turned-singer and told her she was wonderful and said hed love to her in one of his movies. He suggested I appear in his next film, Carla said. I dont know what the role is but I said yes. I go into everything blindly or Id never do anything at all. Im not an actress at all. Perhaps Ill be completely hopeless but I cant miss an opportunity like this one. When Im a grandmother Id like to be able to say I made a film with Woody Allen. Carla - whose acting experience so far consists of only a few brief film appearances - was seen in an episode of The Simpsons last week in the US where she was portrayed as a sex-mad femme fatale. -SS
