DUBAI (APP) - Pakistan's referee Shabbir Daruwala on Saturday earned a unique distinction by supervising a record 11th continental competition when he supervised his opening match of in the 24th Asian Snooker Championship, which opens here on Saturday. "Its great honour for me and Pakistan to have officiated in so many Asian event," Daruwala told after supervising the match between Salim Bin Dihban of UAE and Lin Su-Hung of Chinese Taipei. The 55-year-old Daruwala started his international career by conducting the match in 8th Asian Snooker at Karachi in 1991. Besides supervising in Asian circuit, Shabbir Daruwala has honour of supervising five World Snooker Championships and Busan (2002) and Doha (2006) Asian Games and Macau Indoor Asian Games last year. Shoaib Alam Khan is the other Pakistan referee picked by Asian Confederation of Billiards Sport to supervise the matches here.
