South Korea, Japan condemn North Korea over nuclear talks

South Korean and Japanese leaders condemned Pyongyang on Saturday for failing to show a cooperative attitude in the latest round of six-party talks aimed at dismantling North Korea's nuclear arms programmes. "Both leaders from the two countries expressed their regret that North Korea showed an uncooperative attitude toward joint efforts by the other participating countries in the talks,"South Korea's presidential office said in a statement. The statement was issued after South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso met in the southern Japanese city of Fukuoka. They and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will hold a rare trilateral summit in the city later on Saturday.
