At least 15 people died in eastern India on Thursday after the truck they were riding in touched a high-voltage wire, police said. Sujit Kumar, superintendent of police, said another 30 people were injured in the accident near Satpura, a village in eastern Bihar state. They were returning home from a funeral after cremating the body of a villager who died earlier in the day, Kumar told a foreign news agency. Hareram Pandey, a senior official of the state-run Bihar state electricity board, confirmed the accident. The electricity supply wire was overhanging the road. Kumar said the bodies of 10 of those electrocuted were charred beyond recognition.
