Srinagar- An 18-year-old boy was killed and two others wounded after Indian occupying force fired on a group protesters at Naidkhai in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, Kashmiri media reported today.
There were conflicting reports about what led to the protests. Witnesses said the protests had erupted over the arrest of a youth by the Indian force. Police said the boy, Farhat Dar, was shot in his chest. As the news about his killing spread, hundreds of people including men, women and children took onto the streets.
Indian authorities immediately imposed restrictions on the movement of the people in Srinagar to prevent further protests. DIG G H Bhat said police have lodged an FIR and started investigations into the incident.
