Four security personnel were killed and one injured in a gun battle with militants in Poonch district of held Kashmir. Acting on a tip-off, army troops and police launched a joint cordon and search operation in Tarawali forest belt in Surankote last night, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Surankote, Parbeet Singh said. During the operation militants started firing to which the security personnel retaliated, Singh said. Four security personnel, including two army jawans have been killed and one injured in the encounter which is still going on, he said. The slain army personnel have been identified as Vishnu and Jurnail Singh. Two cops killed in the encounter are identified as Maqbool Shah and Mohmmad Maroof. The injured army jawan is identified as Om Prakash. "No militant has been killed so far in the encounter," he said.
