British Prime Minister, David Cameron, has made a surprise visit to Afghanistan.
In a morale boosting trip, he praised the work of the armed services and spoke about the UK's plans to withdraw troops.
Cameron said the UK will decide in December how many troops will leave Afghanistan in 2013.
Britain is due to withdraw 500 soldiers by the end of this year. No information has been released on how many will be pulled out next year.
There are more than 9,000 British troops in Afghanistan, the second largest foreign force after the United States. The plan is to withdraw the bulk of soldiers by the end of 2014.
More than 400 British troops have been killed in the country since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001.
