Two persons killed, six injured in Helmand seminary blast

Two people were killed and six others wounded in a bomb explosion at a religious school in the Marja district of southern Helmand province of Afghanistan on Thursday, an official said.
The blast happened at a seminary in Shin Ghazak area at about 8am, the district police chief, Col. Walad Rahimi said. The incident coincided with Nawroz, the new solar year, celebrations.
Rahmani believed the victims were making suicide vests or improvised explosive devices, a weapon of choice for the militants that accounts for most casualties among the security personnel and civilians.
The injured were shifted to Lashkargah, the provincial capital, the police official said, without commenting on their condition.
