Israel's deadly offensive in the Gaza Strip created better conditions to secure the release of a captive soldier in a prisoner swap with his Hamas captors, a top official said on Saturday. "The operation created basic conditions that will allow us to approach the discussions differently. I hope that this operation has helped us," Deputy Defence Minister Matan Vilnai said.
