NATO offers $20,000 reward for info on captured US soldier in Afghanistan

NATO has offered a $20,000 reward for information on a U.S. service member captured in eastern Afghanistan, a spokesman for the governor of the Logar province said on Sunday. Two U.S. service members of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) departed their base in the Afghan capital in a vehicle on Friday afternoon and did not return. They were believed to have been captured by Taliban militants somewhere in Logar province. One service man was later found dead near the vehicle while the other is missing, the spokesman said. NATO planes are dropping leaflets in Logar province with appeals to local residents to provide any information on the missing U.S. national, the spokesman said.
