MOSCOW (AFP) - A Russian helicopter caught fire and crashed in Siberia on Thursday killing seven oil workers with a subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom, officials said. The MI-8 helicopter caught fire as it approached the landing strip in the city of Tary in Russias Siberian region of Omsk, said the statement from an investigative committee of prosecutors. All seven passengers on board were killed while the three crew members were taken to a hospital with various injuries. The passengers worked with Gazprom-Vostok (Gapzrom East), an oil subisdiary of the worlds largest natural gas company, and were part of a shift team working on Krapivenskoye oilfield, state Channel One reported. The helicopter was also carrying some 1,600 kilograms (3,500 pounds) of food, an emergencies ministry official told the news agency.
