Zardari wrote no letter for jewellery: Babar

ISLAMABAD - Spokesperson for PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari, Senator Farhatullah Babar, has denied that the former president had written any letter to the unnamed Swiss authorities, seeking return of the jewellery allegedly belonging to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He was replying to a media query about the letter, believed to be written by PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari to the unnamed Swiss authorities through a swiss lawyer, seeking return of the jewellery. Babar recalled that the jeweller, when summoned by the Swiss magistrate at that time, had deposed that the jewellery did not belong to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
Since the ownership of the jewellery had already been denied by the jeweller before the magistrate, it was strange and illogical to assert that Asif Ali Zardari had asked for return of the jewellery that did not belong to him or Benazir Bhutto, he asserted. He added that after the disposal of the case several years back, there was no Swiss lawyer of Zardari in Switzerland through whom he was stated to have approached the unnamed Swiss authorities.
