Ministry receives complaints against private Haj operators

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Complaint Disposal Cell (CDC), Ministry of Religious Affairs has started compiling complaints against such private Haj operators who showed negligence in providing facilities to pilgrims and violated their agreements. Joint Secretary (Haj), Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muhammad Jamil talking to this agency here on Wednesday said that a detailed report about complaints of private Haj operators would be issued after completion of the post-Haj flights operation. He said the report would be based on complaints filed by individuals as well as published in newspapers and monitored by team of the ministry. Muhammad Jamil said stern action would be taken against operators who found guilty and caused any inconvenience to pilgrims. "There are some complaints by pilgrims that they have not been provided the agreed accommodation in Makkah-tul-Mukarrama and Madina-tul-Munawara by some private Haj operators," he said adding that on gross violation of the agreement, licences of operators could be canceled or their quota for next Haj scheme could be curtailed. The CDC, which is headed by the Joint Secretary, has closely been monitoring the working of private Hajj operators throughout the period from beginning of pre-Hajj operation and would keep check till culmination of the operation. Muhammad Jamil said Pakistan Mission in Makkah, Saudi Arabia received 999 minor complaints by hujjaj, which had properly been addressed. He said "redressal of 100 per cent complaints is a big achievement by our end."
