Twin cities celebrate Eid Milad with due reverence

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI (Online) Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was celebrated throughout the country including twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad with full religious fervour and reverence. Strict security arrangements were finalized in connection with the day to avert any untoward incident. The Islamabad Traffic Police and Rawalpindi Traffic Police have devised special traffic plans for the occasion. In capital, the police chalked out a comprehensive plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi and 1,500 policemen guarded the rallies and processions. Personnel from Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) were also deputed along the routes of processions. In capital, a total of 20 rallies and processions were held while the main procession started from Sitara Market and culminated at Sakhi Mehmood Shah shrine near Aabpara after passing through various routes. In Rawalpindi, 1,267 big and small processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi were taken out while the main processions taken out from Jamia Masjid road, city Saddar road, Mall Road, Peshawar road, Jhelum road, airport road, Highway road will culminate at Fawara Chowk in Raja Bazaar. More than 5,000 personnel of Rawalpindi Police and Elite Force maintained peace during Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) remained alert on Saturday to provide emergency cover to processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi In Rawalpindi, more than 350 rescuers performed special duties in district control room, emergency rescue stations, 14 fully equipped emergency ambulances, 12 fire-fighting vehicles and rescue & recovery vehicles. Almost all the main buildings of the twin cities were illuminated and attracted the masses specially the children. Common people also decorated their houses and bazaars to show their affection to the Holy Prophet (SAW).
