RAWALPINDI – Unknown robbers hit franchise of a mobile phone company at Scheme III and made off with cash, mobile phones and SIMs worth thousands of rupees while vehicle lifters stolen a car from Gulzar-e-Quaid, informed sources here on Monday.According to sources, some unidentified robbers equipped with sophisticated arms stormed into a franchise at Scheme III and made the entire hostage at gunpoint. Later, the intruders collected Rs 1,175,000 cash, mobile phones and SIMs and run away.Police Station (PS) Airport officials, when contacted, tried to hide information saying so far no victim approached them for legal action. A Toyota Corolla car bearing registration number ICT-WE-858 was pilfered by auto theft gang from Gulzar-e-Quaid. One Shahzada Fahad Mushtaq lodged a complaint with PS Airport that he parked his car outside his house at night but found missing in next morning. He added that robbers stolen his car. Police, taking action, filed a case and started investigation.On the other hand, an expatiate was deprived of 30,000 Dirhams on its return from Abu Dhabi to Islamabad via Pakistani International Airline (PIA), reliable sources revealed to TheNation. According to sources, a passenger Muhammad Rizwan boarded on Islamabad bound PIA flight PK-220 from Abu Dhabi when the PIA staff asked him to formally book his bag he carrying in his hands. Sources said that the passenger followed the instructions and booked the bag. However, when Rizwan arrived Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP) he found his 30,000 Dirhams missing from the bag. Rizwan alleged PIA staff of robbing his amount, source said adding that the passenger lodged complaint with airport authorities.PIA General Manager (GM) Public Relations (PR) Mashood, who sits in Karachi, however when contacted for his comments, expressed his unawareness about the happening of such incident. He said that normally all the passengers were instructed by the PIA staff to not take care of their valuables including cash and gold and not to book the bags having such items. He said that despite of that he would look into the matter and would get back to this scribe soon.
