RAWALPINDI - A 19-year-old boy suffered minor burn injuries on his shins when two unknown boys riding on motorcycle sprinkled petrol on him at Commercial Market and set him on fire.
The Rescue 1122, on getting information, shifted the injured boy to Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Burn Unit for medical treatment, where doctors stated the condition of the boy out of danger.
According to Police Station (PS) New Town Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Mushtaq Ahmed, who is handling the case, a young boy Muhammad Usman son of Tanveer, resident of Bangish Colony, Pirwadhai was going somewhere in Commercial Market when two unknown boys riding on a bike sprinkled petrol on him and shown the match stick causing minor burn injuries on Usman’s shins. He said that the unknown bike riders managed to flee after committing the crime.
“The young boy, who is told to be heart patient, sustained 5 per cent burnt injuries on his chins,” ASI said, adding that he was being provided medical treatment and his condition is stable.
He said that so far no case was registered as the boy refused to initiate any legal action against the responsible.
Meanwhile, PS Sadiqabad officials registered a case against a man, his brother and three of his others friends for attempting to kidnap his angry wife at Service Road, Sadiqabad.
Station House Officer (SHO) PS Sadiqabad Malik Allah Yar informed that some years ago a woman Sidra hails from Sadiqabad got married with Nawaz Khan, residing in Peshawar. After some time, dispute occurred between the couple on which Sidra left her husband’s house and started living with her mother Shamshad Begum at Service Road.
Nawaz Khan along with his brother and three other accomplices arrived at the home of Sidra and tried to kidnap her. However, the locals intervened and rescued the girl, SHO said adding that police were called. Taking action, Nawaz Khan, his brother and two others were arrested and put behind the lockup. A case has been registered while investigation was launched.
On the other hand, the heirs of Muhammad Yasir Murtaza, the welder who have been injured by the son and servants of N league Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas at Jarahi over a petty dispute a day ago, had a patch up after a long session, informed Station House Officer (SHO) PS Saddar Berooni Malik Suhal Zafar while talking to The Nation.
“Yes, both the parties sat around the table, held negotiations and settled the dispute. A written affidavit has also been submitted with the police” SHO added.
