The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation called on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday to express solidarity with him over the situation emerged after the Supreme Court verdict against him in the contempt of court case.
The MQM senior leader and Federal Minister Dr Farooq Sattar led the delegation comprising party leaders Babar Ghauri, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ahmed and others.
The MQM expressed solidarity with the prime minister and applauded his stance for what it said stability of democracy.
Political analysts were of the view that the meeting was the indication that the alliance between the MQM and the PPP will continue in the future. They said the meeting also countered increasing pressure over the prime minister after his conviction.
