ISLAMABAD - After a spell of hot and sweaty days a wave of pleasant weather has relieved the capital including some other parts of the country. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current wave of rain and gusty winds are expected to continue during the next 48 hours.
The Met Office has predicted that rain and thundershowers associated with gusty winds are likely at scattered places in Sindh, Islamabad, Punjab and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday.
However, widespread rain and thundershowers are expected in Sindh within the next 24 hours, whereas, scattered showers are likely in Islamabad, Punjab eastern Balochistan (Kalat, Sibbi, Nasirabad divisions) and Kashmir and at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The office also said that strong monsoon currents were penetrating into Sindh and Punjab and were likely to continue during the next 04 to 05 days. A westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of the country and isolated heavy falls are expected in Sindh and northeast Punjab from Wednesday to Friday.
