Operation starts against buildings lacking fire extinguishers





RAWALPINDI  - Chief Instructor Civil Defence Department, Talib Hussain, has said that Commissioner Rawalpindi issued strict directives to take steps against the factories operating without fire extinguishers.
He has confirmed action is being taken against shops, factories and plazas of Rawalpindi Division, which have not installed fire extinguishers despite notices issued by Civil Defence Department. Around 16 petrol pumps, 10 CNG stations and 24 buildings situated in Rawalpindi Division have already been challaned in this regard.
Meanwhile, in its latest push against encroachments, the Rawal Town administration has impounded 4-truckloads of impounded material.
Fines worth Rs.80,000 were also levied on the offenders, while administrator Rawal Town, Saif Anwar Jappa has cautioned traders to avoid encroachments, in better interests of citizens and City environment.
The encroachment department on Saturday launched its operation in Liaqat Road, Iqbal Road, Muslim Town, Mirpur Road and Khayaban-e-Sir Syed.
