ISLAMABAD - Shalimar Police has arrested a foreign national and recovered 80 bottles of wine from his vehicle having fake registration number plates.
A police spokesman Saturday said Shalimar Police Station had enhanced the vigilance at check posts in their respective jurisdiction following directions from SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiynai.
One of the police team headed by SHO Ghulam Muhammad Baqir including ASI Muhammad Shabbir stopped a suspected car near police post in sector F-11/4 for having tinted glasses and asked the occupant of vehicle for search of it.
During the checking, police recovered 80 wine bottles from it and also arrested the accused Muhammad Ayubi s/o Waleed Ayubi presently residing at Police Foundation in Sector E-11. During the initial investigation, it has been revealed that FIRs have been registered against this person at Kohsar, Ramana and Shalimar police stations and red notice has been issued for his arrest.
Police have registered the case under relevant section and further investigation is underway from him after getting physical remand from court concerned.
