US to increase cooperation to help cope with Low intensity conflicts

General David Petreaus, Commander US CENTCOM on Monday highly acclaimed the services and sacrifices of Pakistan Army and said that his country would increase cooperation with Pakistan to help cope with low intensity conflicts. According to Spokesman of the Pakistan Army, General David Petreaus, Commander US CENTCOM visited General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani here on Monday. The visiting dignitary remained with him for some time and discussed matters of professional interest, latest situation in Afghanistan, Pak and US forces cooperation and other issues relating to national security. Later, he accompanied COAS on visit to Low Intensity Conflict Training facility developed near Mangla. Sources say that General David Petreaus, Commander US CENTCOM lauded the gigantic efforts of Pakistan Army thick and thin. During the course of the meeting, he said US will keep on supporting Pakistan thus enhancing Pak-US strategic Cooperation. He further added that in view to cope with Low Intensity Conflict, US will strengthen its association with Pakistan for providing necessary Army Training and in other fields of bilateral interest.
