Turkish support for Pak uplift lauded

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil said on Saturday that centuries-old Pak-Turkish friendship is reflective of the profound and long-standing feelings of fraternity and brotherhood between the two countries. He expressed these views while talking to the Ambassador of Turkey M. Babur Hizlan who had a meeting with him in the ministry. The minister said that Turkish cooperation for development in various sectors in Pakistan was laudable and the strong relations guaranteed economic stability and progress in both the countries. On the occasion, Communications Secretary Sharif Ahmad Khan and other high officials were also present. The Turkish ambassador, Babur Hizlan assured the Federal Minister that Turkey desired prosperity and progress of the people of Pakistan by providing valuable assistance in various sectors. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, thanking the ambassador, said that the people of Pakistan and Turkey were bonded together by centuries of brotherly relations and the services of the Turkish companies after the earthquake of October 8, 2005 in Pakistan were praiseworthy.
