ISLAMABAD - The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-I annual examination 2013 results on Tuesday and according to which only 48.5 per cent candidates could pass the examination.
As many as 49,386 regular candidates had appeared in the examination and of them 24,783 could pass it with the pass percentage of 50.18. Likewise, 2523 students appeared as private and ex-candidates and of them only 392 were declared successful with pass percentage of 15.54 per cent.
As many as, 8,263 regular students appeared in Humanities Group examination and of them 3,857 were declared pass with the pass percentage of 46.68. In Pre-Medical Group 11,537 students appeared and of them 7,555 could manage to pass the exam with pass percentage of 65.48. In Pre-Engineering Group 14,402 appeared and of them 7,852 were passed. About 10,450 students appeared in Science General Group and of them 4,293 could pass the exam. A total of 4,544 students appeared in Commerce Group and 1,138 were declared successful and 190 appeared in Medical Technology Group and of them 88 passed the exam.
About 1,765 students took the exam as private or ex-candidates in Humanities Group and 319 passed the exam with the pass percentage of 18.07. And 748 students appeared in Commerce Group as private or ex-candidates and only 72 passed the exam with 9.63 percentage.
The candidates against whose roll numbers and names abbreviations of certain subjects have been mentioned, have failed in the said subject/ papers and area allowed to reappear in the papers in the next examination (s) if otherwise eligible.
The statement issued by the board said all those candidates whose results have been withheld for want of fee/ eligibility are advised in their own interest to resolve these discrepancies to enable this office to declare their results.
