ISLAMABAD - Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, has said that PTI was unable to participate in the meeting on Karachi’s security chaired by the Prime Minister because the leadership was not informed directly that is why it was unable to send proper representation.
However PTI stands committed to working for peace in Karachi with all forces committed to achieving this end. Imran in a statement issued Tuesday said the problems confronting Karachi and bleeding the city incessantly have continued for over two decades.
He said the successive governments have failed because they neither had the capability nor the political will to tackle and resolve these issues.
According to the Chairman PTI, the time has come to address these problems through a fresh and revolutionary approach. The PTI is prepared to give substantive proposals in this regard provided the government is willing to muster a resolute political will to leave aside political party compulsions and tackle these problems with determination.
The PTI proposals include depoliticisation of police and deweaponisation of Karachi as well as immediate end to the militant wings of the political parties.
This will include the implementation of the SC’s judgement calling for the same. All this requires the strictest implementation of the rule of law.
