ICT admin accused of not supporting CDA

ISLAMABAD - The ICT administration is allegedly not cooperating with the CDA management, which has sought the help of Rangers to retrieve the encroached land and the land under illegal possession of fake owners.
A senior official of the authority while talking to TheNation on Wednesday said that their department had already approached the ICT administration for provision of services of Rangers.
“The Rangers will be of a great help to the authority since we will be able to clear the encroached land in sectors including E-12, D-12, and different other residential sectors,” said the official. However, the lack of support of not helping the CDA to clear the encroached land is quite shady. “We have no idea why ICT is not helping the authority to clear the state land from adverse possession knowing the fact that Supreme Court has ordered the CDA to get the possession of the state land on speedy basis,” said a legal wing official of the authority.
Taking up the adverse possession of land case the Supreme Court in January 2011 the court had directed the civic agency to retrieve the around 20,000 acres from encroachers. Later, in June 2011, the city managers launched the drive and got the land vacated.
An official said that once the services of Rangers are acquired the land recovery would definitely be on speedy basis. The official observed that matter is still unclear that a delay is mainly on the ICT administration side.
When approached Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amair Ali Ahmed told TheNation said that it is not the duty of ICT administration to forcibly evacuate the encroached land. When the fake owners acquired the land illegally where was the civic administration? He added that why the civic administration not submits the application against some corrupt officials, the police should file FIRs not just against illegal land encroachers but also against CDA officials who are supporting land encroachers.
“I never ever got any application from the CDA for hiring the services of Rangers.
This is a wrong impression,” claimed the deputy commissioner.
